Two Valleys Radio, 20 July 2012
A real mega-achievement: this nonstop broadcast of drama for eight hours
contained just about everything. New plays, sketches, comedies, extracts from classic plays, monologues, criticism, music
- all attesting to the wonderful enthusiasm and commitment of the group of people keeping the drama strand going on Two Valleys
Radio.
Some of the acting might be a little wooden; the delivery stilted; the accents interesting
(I've never heard Frank, from Educating Rita, delivered in a Yorkshire accent, but it seemed plausible nonetheless).
But any criticisms are rendered pointless by the sheer energy of the broadcasting; the desire to keep going at all costs;
and the commitment to continue eight hours of non-stop live broadcasting.
I'm grateful to Matt Bell for letting me know about this very special occasion: I
felt privileged to listen to it.
